Together, our vision is to create a therapeutic space where creativity can flourish and new approaches can be explored.
How it all started
Ginkgo Centre for Creative Arts Therapies started as a collaborative vision between two friends and colleagues, Audrey-Anne Frenette and Stephanie Sing. Together, their vision is to create a therapeutic space where creativity can flourish and new approaches can be explored. Their shared values were, and still are, based on courage, authenticity, growth and relationships. It is through these four pillars that they continue to learn how to trust themselves, and the process, as individuals, as teammates and as collaborators.
Upon careful consideration, they decided to choose the name Ginkgo because the ginkgo leaf is a symbol that represents resilience, determination and growth; qualities that they both aspire to embody and embrace.
Our Mission
As a team, we strive to provide a safe and supportive environment for our clients to explore their inner world as they navigate the busyness of their everyday lives. We aspire to positively contribute to the livelihood of our clients through authenticity, courageous conversations, continual growth, and healthy relationships. Our mission is governed by the ethical standards provided by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association as well as the Canadian Art Therapy Association. We use them as guidelines to ensure we provide the highest standards of care to all of our clients. We dedicate our work to being self-reflexive, equitable and anti-oppressive, upholding community care and ongoing learning so that we may contribute to a socially just world.
Our Vision
At Ginkgo Centre for Creative Arts Therapies we aim to help people find inner peace, creativity and strength to live through life’s challenges, successes and the inevitable uncertainties that arise. Our vision is to support sustainable work, with accessible services, that have a low impact on the environment. We want to give ourselves permission to dream big so that one day this space can become a hub for other people’s visions and aspirations to grow.
